Sheena (Johnson) Tosta, one of nine former VHSL athletes representing the United States at the Bejing Olympics, will compete in the women’s 400 meter hurdles.  The former Gar-Field High School track star is one of the most decorated female athletes in VHSL history.  Johnson was named by Track & Field News as the Outstanding Female High School Indoor Track and Field performer for the 1999 and 2000 seasons.  At the 2000 VHSL Outdoor Track Championships, she won the 300m hurdles (40.94, state record), 100m hurdles (13.8w), triple jump (12.21m/40-7.25) and long jump (6.15m/20-2w).  She is tied with former U.S. Olympian Paula Girven ( Gar-Field High School ) for most events (four) ever won at the state meet and total outdoor titles (nine).  She held 28 district and regional indoor and outdoor titles (1997-2000), 15 individual VHSL championships and six national crowns.
